Take 5 Breaths

Your Simple Awareness is a Superpower

Pause what you’re doing for 5 deep breaths to honor yourself and to bring peace to your life and relaxation to your body. If you’d like to enjoy the sound of the ocean while you do this, scroll down to the video below.

Breathe

1. Feel your body.

2. Relax your shoulders.

3. Choose a word that makes you feel peaceful, such as om, peace, or love.

4. Inhale slowly while mentally saying the word you chose. Pause before starting the exhalation.

5. Exhale slowly while mentally saying 1 with the first breath. Exhale saying 2 with the second breath, up to 5 or more.

For example:
Inhale saying Om, exhale saying 1.

Inhale saying Om, exhale saying 2.

and so on.

BREATHE deeper

1. Pause at the end of each inhalation and at the end of each exhalation.

2. Inhale and exhale as slowly as possible.

3. Take your time and notice how this feels in your body.

4. Allow your body to further relax with each exhalation.

5. Take 10 or more deep breaths and do this several times a day.

feel it

1. Notice how you feel and how your energy field has shifted from taking 5 deep breaths.

2. If you like how this feels, do it often and/or increase the number of breaths.

3. Share with others the value of pausing and taking 5 deep breaths to honor themselves and bring peace to their lives and the world.

4. Notice how relaxing yourself positively impacts the people around you.

We all walk around defensively dissociated from our direct experience to one degree or another. We all have an edge, beyond which there be dragons. The good news is those dragons are your allies. They are your mighty companions. Even the cold hard void turns out to be home once you let yourself feel whatever concerns arise as you approach it.
