Katamon’s Neighborhoods League
has risen as a light in the heart of Jerusalem.
The kids, the parents, and the coaches all come from neighborhoods of varying religious backgrounds, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, and represent a vast array of cultures.
From a landscape of despair and division, this extremely diverse community has courageously chosen trust, collaboration, mutual respect, and joy! They all come together to play football/soccer and have fun!
The kids self-referee, are mentored and supported by the parents and coaches, they play together, congenially resolve conflicts, and everyone benefits by bringing laughter, love, and light into the world.
UPLIFT has supported this courageous and indomitable project for over 12 years, bringing diverse Jerusalem neighborhoods together through sports, from youngsters just starting out, to players in league-level tournaments.
We are proud to see and encourage their ongoing lionhearted efforts. At this extraordinarily challenging time, it is indeed heroic to continue to do what they do.
