Self-Discovery Guidelines to Access and Activate:

Writing down your insights is very helpful. 

Before you start, we encourage you to keep a journal of your explorations, so grab a journal, pad of paper or print the worksheet below.

1. Feel your body, take a few moments to settle in. Your body holds deep wisdom. Trust in it. Learn from it. Connect with it.

2. Bring your awareness to the specific Inner Resource of Silence, as you slow down, and take a few deep breaths.

3. Allow the word Silence to just drop into your field of being and notice what you experience with curiosity and kindness to yourself. 

Take your time, go slowly, and be patient with yourself to get the best results.

Explore the following questions with curiosity and kindness to yourself:

As I take a moment to be still, I can become aware of the silent background of everything.

In this stillness, I allow myself to be aware of the silence that is the backdrop for all noise.

As I settle into and focus my attention on silence, even with noises around me, I can sense and notice more silence. Even with thoughts in my mind, I can still be aware of silence.

In the same way as space and air are always present in a room, even though we mostly notice the furniture and items in it, silence is always present as the background to everything else that is going on, including thinking.

Take a few moments to be still and aware of silence. Notice what this feels like.

Can I find the peace in silence?

What does it feel like to notice silence within my body?

The more I look for silence, the more I can discern its presence.

As I become more aware of the feelings of silence, I am both accessing and activating its presence within me. Pause for a few moments and feel this deeply.

Notice if sounds now seem different once there is more awareness of the silence.

Even if there is noise around me or in my mind, I can still sense the presence of silence.

Of course, if there is too much noise, it is good to get away to somewhere quiet!

Silence is powerful. As you spend more time accessing and activating silence in your field of awareness, be open and curious to discovering how profoundly it can contribute to the quality of your life and those around you.

Silence is an innate aspect of our Being. Other innate aspects include Beauty, Light, Love, Peace, Innocence, and Joy. Silence is an inherent part of all of those and all of those are contained in and entwined with Silence. As you access and activate one of these, you automatically open access to activate all of them. Bringing your conscious awareness to each of these allows them all to be more prevalent in your life experience.

We invite you to continue this journey of self-discovery. It is not a once-and-done experience. Please revisit this exploration into Silence and discover how it continues to deepen and enhance the quality of your life.

Take 5 Deep Breaths

1. Feel your body.

2. Relax your shoulders.

3. Choose a word that makes you feel peaceful, such as om, peace, or love.

4. Inhale slowly while mentally saying the word you chose. Pause before starting the exhalation.

5. Exhale slowly while mentally saying 1 with the first breath. Exhale saying 2 with the second breath, up to 5 or more.

Feel Your Body

Relax your body, and just be aware of how your body feels. Without changing anything, notice what you are feeling, and where you are feeling things in your body.  If your body wants to adjust a little, let it. Be curious how it feels as your body relaxes. (Resist any temptation to analyze or think.)
