We Were Made for These Times

We Were Made for These Times

Love is Our Guide

One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Hello there! How are you doing these days? I mean really doing? It’s inspiring to see the difficult news being balanced with the human spirit’s resilience for togetherness and kindness. There are so many great positive and creative ways to combat our current personal, national and global struggles. Some of our struggles feel insignificant and some feel insurmountable — but they are all appearing simultaneously.

I’m struggling sometimes with putting on a brave face. I’m trying not to worry too much about my seventy-seven-year-old mom who is self-isolating. She has said a few times she’s “fed up”. I miss some of my old life and habits. I miss everybody talking at once at a dinner party (something I previously hated). I miss the clutter and chatter of cafe life and people-watching. I miss spontaneously bumping into an old friend and having a big hug, coffee and cake. I miss a lot of things that I’d taken so much for granted.

It’s as if each day, I am losing my identities. Some familiar to me and some only surfacing now in the face of these corona-imposed confinements and restrictions. I am staring in the mirror and watching the layers peel away at a rate that I am not accustomed to or comfortable with. There’s a quickening … it’s that no turning back feeling as the lap-brace locks, just before the roller coaster slowly moves off. My spine stiffens even though I know there will be beneficial self-enquiry and tremendous personal and spiritual growth.

We are needed … And though we meet resistance, we more so will meet great souls who will hail us, love us and guide us, and we will know them when they appear. Didn’t you say you were a believer? Didn’t you ask for grace? Don’t you remember that to be in grace means to submit to the voice greater? — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

I’m questioning a lot these days. My opinions, beliefs, point of view. It’s as if every time I reach for a word I cross it out. It’s not exactly self-doubt but more a re-choosing. A confirmation of who I truly want to be. How do I really want to show up authentically in these times, for myself and others? It’s as though I am moving underwater in slow-motion; as though under a spell of peculiar anticipation and welcomed awe. It’s a welcome gear shift; down into meditation and contemplation.

Sometimes, I lay under a tree and feel into it all. I watch the sunrise every day and recognise the miracle of that dramatic tableau. I see the moon shuffle around the daytime sky; in the vast pale Australian blue. I see the Autumn burst of flowers tricking the eyes into Spring. I watch a wild bunny hop over the lawn; our eyes meet and it’s very, very quiet. If I hold my breath and listen in, I can almost hear the bunny breathing.

The soundscape is different now. Between all the gaps that the cars, delivery trucks, buses, break squeaks and car horns and planes would normally fill, I hear Nature, quietly rumble with the hum of a bumblebee or with proud declarations, shriek, in the form of a prattle of parrots. Big exhale. And there I am in the joy of witnessing.

The pandemic has given me the deep appreciation of silence and the eerie reflection that I, we, you and me — make far too much noise. It feels counter-intuitive to write, to speak, to contribute to the ‘solutions’ without feeling that even breathing can feel too loud.

Especially do not lose hope. Most particularly because, the fact is that we were made for these times. Yes. For years, we have been learning, practicing, been in training for and just waiting to meet on this exact plain of engagement. — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

I feel I am in an entirely new world. I am both cautious and reinvigorated. I have longed for a paradigm shift. I have prayed for a dramatic wake-up call for myself and all human consciousness. I thought I was prepared. Now I see that even my altruistic wishes are in some tension, some tug of war with good and bad, better and different, now and then, some deep non-acceptance of what is. I know I am on the brink of something magnificent and yet I am still curious about this measured apprehension.

We Are All in this Together – We Are Not Alone

Regarding awakened souls, there have never been more able vessels in the waters than there are right now across the world … There are millions of boats of righteous souls on the waters with you. — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

So many people have literally said to me, “We were made for these times.” They include me in the collective We of visionary people, lightworkers, orderlies for optimism, the Truth-Seekers, the healers and the soul-artists. It’s only now that I begin to move out of the abstract naming and try to match my job title with my job description. Perhaps I am a Light Writer … charged to hone an eloquent purpose that serves the greater whole? To etch ‘LOVE’ into every stroke, or curve or angle of the alphabet. To enlist the help of Rumi, and Hafiz and all the great mystical and humanitarian poets who wove God into every utterance.

My friends, do not lose heart. We were made for these times. I have heard from so many recently who are deeply and properly bewildered. They are concerned about the state of affairs in our world now. Ours is a time of almost daily astonishment — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

I sometimes question if I am ‘made’ for these times … but I am in these times. And I do love to use words to stitch and mend. So I commit to writing these gifts. These ruminations are my small prayers, my heart-vision, my call to alms for all those who are steered to harness the truth of Unity, Peace and Love and scatter it inwards and outwards. Perhaps then God will feel our commitment to Oneness and alter the course of humanity, finally setting sail for Home.

Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach. Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely. It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good. — Clarissa Pinkola Estes

~

Beloveds, what are you built for? What gentle influence or gale-force truth can you scatter in the wind? How do you deal with your shifting interpretations? How do you stand up to the darkness that attempts to put out your light? Will you stand with us, for Unity, Peace and Love in a Field of Transcendence?

Please share in the comments below. Your resonance and contribution amplify our critical mass to tip toward an enduring good.

Many, Many Blessings,

Team UPLIFT

Your piece resonated. Thank you. Today I’m struggling. The emotion flowing out of me the past couple days has been a deep sadness. Your words triggered an “aha” moment and I realized that what is coming out of me is the sadness of my lifetime; all the feelings I stuffed, all the disappointments, all the “less than” feelings, all the fear, all the lost opportunities, all the shame.
Its quiet here, and cold, and my old bones protest spending time outside. Yet, every time I brave the elements, I feel a healed spot where some old pain had dug its claws into me for so long and now is gone.
I believe in my soul that what is happening around the world has purpose, and not a negative one, but is the shaking off, by mother nature, of the bad, the destruction, the turning away from our souls. Birth and rebirth can be painful, messy, fearful. And with us, the old destructive ways are dying. They have had a stranglehold on the world but are losing their grip.
And, here we are, at the edge of this beautiful new world; we have front row seats. Mother nature has shown signs of regenerating, people are kinder, faceless corporations are spending their advertising dollars to commit to helping those most needy, and to encourage us all.
I pledge to open my heart. Peace, love, and virtual hugs to all.

Dear Paul, Thank you so much for sharing your elegant and poetic writing that resonates so deeply within my core of my being; and, as others have said, for raising the vibration within these times that bring such fluctuation of innerscapes and outerscapes. Thank you for reminding us all who we are, that we have been preparing for this time and that we are indeed, together. Namaste and blessings to you and the Uplift Team. With love, love, more love, and deep gratitude, Suzanne

I am loving this! Yes, the lockdown is restrictive sometimes yet I have prayed for silence and peace in what was a crazy world. I am not a particularly sociable person nor a “touchy-feely-huggy one” so not seeing people doesn’t bother me at all. Sometimes, selfishly, I wish I could just walk out to the shops as before or go for a drive in the country with my partner.Perhaps the only thing I miss is not being able to go out for a meal. However, I am realizing how much money I used to spend on what was obviously unnecessary “stuff” because I’m not spending it now and we are managing fine. For so long I have been waiting for this, now I am so grateful that it has happened during my lifetime. It will continue for as long as need be, let us welcome it. It is a blessing. It will change our Earth.

I feel an opening of my heart in oneness. So beautiful to read and share this. Love and the light we can shine into the darkness illuminates humanity and our beautiful planet. Seeing ourselves as one with the natural world and with each other will change our world.
My gratitude for all you are doing. Thank you.❤️ thank you

Over this period of time I feel like I have read alot and usually the words have left me either fearful or confused but nothing has touched my heart as deeply as your words. A beautiful depth of understanding and awareness written in love. ‘Light Writer…’ Your gentle, powerful words are so inspiring. Thank you for writing from your heart. Jx

Hi Paul,
I loved your message. Thank you. Yes, this a special time and yes, we are meant to be here to experience this special time. During my self isolation I notice a distinct change in my immediate environment: the stillness; the autumn light, not as harsh as summer; the quietness. The magpies singing quieter songs in the afternoons and evenings. So peaceful and an opportunity for each of us to go within to listen to our higher self, reflect on our love for Mother Earth and all her kingdoms including ours. A time for positive change and unconditional love to expand.
I look forward to joining you all at 7.30pm EST. Love & Blessings

Most of us know that there is something else in process, than the “virus” in the world at this point in time; that a few, right at the top of the ladder of this physical world, hungry for Power ultimately, is trying to orchestrate by creating an enormous vibration of Fear on Earth, which in Truth is Totally Unfounded…

But the forces of Light, Love and Awareness, Present on our Planet at this point in time, is far more Powerful than what they anticipated…

People are Giving. Sharing. Caring. Bringing in a Different vibration… and so, Creating a Different Reality…

It is to That I wish to add My force… together with you all and many others: Willing Servants to that which is True.
May I be used for the Greatest Good of All.

If this was a painting it would look like no other!
I would be breathless without knowing as my eyes
Unveiled the newness of gods gifts. I who stand there as I am bring all that has been and is, like a child with trust innocence and abundant life.
Your gift to me is this art, this stitching, this colour.

Thankyou❤️

It feels more and more real every day now that what we all seem to have been working towards ie. becoming a steward for the earth, a light worker etc., that a place that has been held for us is now being recognized. Recognition is not the goal but service is and I’m all too happy to be of service to those who need me.
Thanks you for sharing your beautiful words of inspiration.

I appreciate this post so much. I love Clarissa Pinkola Estes. And I want so much to believe that we were made for these times. I want that to be true. But there are nights I go to bed so depressed from the evening news (of which I watch very little these days) that I wonder.

What is encouraging is knowing there are others who share my doubts and my fears. And it is encouraging knowing there are people who see this crisis as I do – an opportunity to grow, to become, to develop more fully as a people, to deepen spiritually and to become aware of the suffering all around us and in response willing to do something about it.

I am hopeful even as I wonder. Thank you.

My being transformed through the renewing of my mind to a New created creator in CHRIST JESUS!
GOD has already felt & been grieved in His heart about humanity’s commitment to oneness, which keeps bringing the people to Babbling confusion, with words contrary to HIS Word & of His Words;that sets on fire the course of nature! The “sail” of their “ship” is not ready, they are not safe not saved,by welcoming JESUS as THE LORD-CAPTAIN of all,The Only “Way”,finished on the cross finally to return certainly HOME! This is knowledge-experience,a resurrection life that ascends mere transcendence-to reign in life walking humbly with THE Owner-Controller-Possessor of all,in Spirit & in Truth!

Beloved ones!
Thank you so much for these beautiful, gentle, settling and unsettling words. I relate and resonate. Thank you to all who are doing what we can. This continues to be ‘an inside job’ for me. Forgiving what I can that comes up to disturb. Many of us are praying in collective every night at 7:30-8:00 pm. est. Join us wherever you are. No phone. No zoom. Just the etheric hook up. I envision us all circling the beautiful spinning blue marble, eating and digesting the heaviness of these times, past times and future times. Bless us all. Love Love Love!

These are words that everyone would benefit from reading. To understand our world, we reach to have a big picture perspective. But we can not stay in that place. We must shift from the big picture to what is right in front of us at this moment. World Peace is what I believe in. Peace like that begins in our homes when we teach our children to be peace-loving and kind. Clarissa, thank you for these lovely words of hope and courage. I was introduced to your book back in the 90s when I lived in Austin Texas. We had a women’s group that met every week to discuss one of the stories. I was the youngest woman there but I sure learned a lot. Thank you for helping to make this world a better place. <3

Thank you; a beautiful and brilliant article. A reminder too of the times, and the times .. both personal and social, global. The ship is strong; we should not need a reminder, but we do (I do). What I would also like to see is far more informed, researched, innovative discussion on finance. Speaking personally I have been on a massive bridge for the last three years, after many years of solid work and income in the holistic training field. That changed and I fully understand the ending of a cycle, with the potential beginning of a new one. I am working fully with that. But the finances have reached a nadir (ok an appearance and I am working on that too); but I am not alone in this dilemma. I have written to several key figures (whose names you would know) with no reply. Internet business may be the answer or one of them but is renowned for scams and dangers. Can we from a better perspective address the realities of finance? I believe it is a vital, missing key and needs serious attention. Blessings and Light, in thanksgiving and peace. Thank you, brilliant article. Basically war and violence are a male desease. The desease of a misunderstooden ideal of masculinity. To cure the desease we must encourage men not to be afraid of love. On the soul level we are already one. In the material world our history can be seen as as permanently ongoing refuse to becom ONE.

Curiosity

Curiosity is our natural ability to look at things with fresh eyes. As we put aside opinions, concepts, projections, and expectations: we become available to experience this moment with the wonder and innocence of a child.

Being curious brings us into a natural, open, and vast space to explore: “What is this?” “What am I experiencing?” “What am I feeling?”

4. Bring more awareness to what you are feeling. Focus on your felt experience and the qualities of the Inner Resource as you embody it. Resist the habit to analyze. Simply feel your body and emotions.

5. Be open to your current experience, whatever it is, without judgment. Just ride the wave of the experience.

6. Remember that the quality of your attention and what you are feeling are more important than the content. Notice how your attention changes, waxing and waning, growing stronger, and sometimes getting distracted. No worries, simply bring your awareness back to the moment, take a deep breath, and focus on the Inner Resource.

7. Become familiar with the feelings and sensations of the Inner Resource you have chosen. Feel what is showing up in your physical body and your emotional body. Be curious to discover how this Inner Resource will support you in your life, to be who you really want to be, and feel how you really want to feel. It is through feeling the Inner Resource that you activate the frequency of it.

Take 5 Deep Breaths

1. Feel your body.

2. Relax your shoulders.

3. Choose a word that makes you feel peaceful, such as om, peace, or love.

4. Inhale slowly while mentally saying the word you chose. Pause before starting the exhalation.

5. Exhale slowly while mentally saying 1 with the first breath. Exhale saying 2 with the second breath, up to 5 or more.

Feel Your Body

Relax your body, and just be aware of how your body feels. Be curious about what is happening in your body. Without changing anything, just notice what you are feeling. Notice where you are feeling things in your body. Make yourself more comfortable if you’d like. Take a deep breath, and feel the sensation of aliveness and the energy of your body.
