Miten & Deva Premal – Rain of Blessings / Ra Ma Da Sa

Watch this beautiful lyric video by Miten & Deva Premal “Rain of Blessings / Ra Ma Da Sa” – from their upcoming album ‘Miten – The Jungle Sessions with Joby Baker and Deva Premal’

Miten & Deva Premal sharing a little about the genesis of this song:-

This song came pouring into our lives during a downpour of biblical intensity here in Costa Rica while meditating with our online Gayatri Sangha Community. The song sang itself – it took over the congregation, and we all became witnesses to its spontaneous unfolding.
Inspired by our new jungle home we used palm fronds and fallen branches as percussion instruments and integrated the sound of distant thunder and torrential rain into the track.
Our collaborator on the project is Canadian musician/producer, Joby Baker. Joby’s beautiful instrumentation and his deep sense of the rhythmic groove gives the song a forward motion, shimmering and glimmering as we sing ourselves home.
We wove “Ra Ma Da Sa” seamlessly into the song structure. The Ra Ma Da Sa mantra is also known as the Siri Gaitri mantra – a powerful healing chant passed on to us by our dear friend and celebrated teacher, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa.

Take 5 Deep Breaths

1. Feel your body.

2. Relax your shoulders.

3. Choose a word that makes you feel peaceful, such as om, peace, or love.

4. Inhale slowly while mentally saying the word you chose. Pause before starting the exhalation.

5. Exhale slowly while mentally saying 1 with the first breath. Exhale saying 2 with the second breath, up to 5 or more.

Feel Your Body

Relax your body, and just be aware of how your body feels. Without changing anything, notice what you are feeling, and where you are feeling things in your body.  If your body wants to adjust a little, let it. Be curious how it feels as your body relaxes. (Resist any temptation to analyze or think.)
