“There’s a better civilization available to us.” Dr bruce Lipton
It’s so easy to feel a little forlorn if we both passively watch and also buy into the current narratives that the world is a dark and dangerous place: that a dystopian future is already manifesting. It’s true that technology brings more and more hyper-stimulating news coverage of world events that we would have never previously been exposed to. Technology and our seemingly inextricable new limbs; smartphones and wifi-screens are manipulating our perceptions.
We are ‘choosing’ our own realities that are actually generated by algorithms. We are losing agency every day. So of course the world feels alien and causes anxiety, perhaps even mild trauma. Mini earthquakes across our heart-fault lines. Eventually we are too exhausted from anti-nourishment that we close down a little every day.
In this short film Dr Bruce Lipton offers us some hope for the heart and trust in our process. It’s not all doom and gloom. Nothing ever is. The miracles of life on our planet-home continue to beckon us into their mysteries. Not to find answers but to be in awe. Bruce seduces us into the wonderful world of Imaginal Cells. The Caterpillar while regressing into what appears to be a primordial soup, has no idea that soon, an orchestra of imaginal cells is playing a magnificent butterfly into creation. The caterpillar is not concerned with her future and yet she is integral in the design, construct and the explosion of beauty and colour that will flutter-butter-fly.
Take a deep breath. Let your shoulders relax. Take another deep breath. Relax your belly. Open your mouth wide and make some strange sounds from your throat. Let a long sleepy yawn ask your eyelids to be heavy. Relax. Your worry and anxiety is better transformed into prayer, kindness, loving thoughts and altruistic gestures. Sit down. Drink some cool water. All is as it should be! And if you feel called to take right-action and make changes then call the energy that’s needed for that from your heart, your kindness, your wellbeing, your relaxation and your love. Then you’ll truly know energy and power.
Press play and let Dr Bruce beguile you into some trust in this very moment, and the next, and the next, and the next …

We love you … you big beautiful bunch of imaginal cells.
Wishing you healthy, happy and empowering perceptions.

Wonderful. Hopefully the beginning of a New Romanticism (in the poetic sense of that term), in which nature, and every facet of it, is given the respect it deserves, and as The Doors Jim Morrison expressed it, not tortured and stabbed in the side of the dawn, tied with fences, and dragged down. He wanted to hear the scream of the butterfly, as Wordsworth wanted to hear Triton’s horn two centuries before him in a poem that spoke to another time of planetary upheaval, the Industrial Revolution. “The World Is Too Much With Us.” Indeed it is.
As we go, society goes!
After over forty years in the trenches as a clinical psychologist, intellectually I admire Bruce and his positive conceptions….and although they may help us win a few battles all evidence suggests mankind is losing the war. A war from the predators that came amongst us over 200,000 years ago and continue to this day to traumatize our species. Surely there are no signposts out of this dark forest, all the trails are covered with leaves, and no guides exist to truly show us the way, and unfortunately, there can be no turning back. We are not gifted by the gods to transform like butterflies, we must stay diligent and find our own way. Thanks Bruce for more grits for the mill.
My son who works in London is so aware of the total greed of our leaders and he finds it hard to imagine a positive way forward. He’s a big Star Trek fan so I told him to focus on the positive worldview displayed by Gene Rodenberry. He saw the world improving in many ways when writing about the future. This madness we’re experiencing is unfortunately part of this transition. I enjoyed the shirt film which made this very clear.
I totally agree with everything he says. It we can’t just wait for it to happen. We have arrogant, insensitive, megalomaniac leaders, thinking specifically about US and Uk now, who are too up themselves and blinkered to listen and seriously think that only the economy matters, And they are supported by rich people who want the status quo to continue and have a disproportionate say in how the world looks. I don,t have faith in humans to affect change and we are destroying the planet for fellow species, who we just exploit with arrogance and insensitivity.
I absolutely know that what you are saying is the TRUTH! Have been following you for years now.
Thanks for all your good work.
Such a simple and beautiful analogy.
The chaos we have created must serve to teach us. Only in a world which is kinder, fairer, more inclusive and where we are more loving towards each other and the natural world can we flourish and survive. We have no choice, we have to choose love not fear
What a beautiful message for humanity
Great analogy of the caterpillar and the butterfly! There is another one I like too: the earth is purifying and in any purification process all the shit comes up to the surface. This is the negativity and crazyness we’re seeing in today’s world. But as Bruce said, it’s all perfect, right on time!
Thank you Bruce. I have been following you for over 30 years and you continue to lead with your heart and deep wisdom.
