Echoes of Chaos

Plant the Tree of Life

Silence –

Echoes of hard times

The beating drums of chaos

Upon this crackling rock – humanity

We stand in the sand of time.

Black is beautiful

Yet black is homeless.

Roaming the streets of anxiety

Dissatisfaction and ingratitude.

What does history say of misery?

Defiant!

Deafening heartbreak

Drowning Mother Earth

In the blood of her offspring

Hopelessness and disarray.

A crumbling giant

Weak idols

Blazing screams

In her hoarse voice,

“Why not fight the good fight?”

A stitch in time saves nine

Not in ashes or bloody Nile

Not in a defiled mother.

If life tarries,

What shall the children know?

Cowardice and greed,

Uncertainty –

The beauty of a world

Without men,

Men who delight in death.

The Earth our home

Let’s salvage what’s left of humanity

And plant the tree of life

At the centre of her garden

So scions might know love and live.

I remain speechless,
Even though there are words I didn’t get the first time.
Nice poetry, I just loved it.
