There’s a new awakening unfolding around the globe and Dr. Saida Desilets believes it’s all connected to what she calls sexual sovereignty. The term relates to understanding that we have full ownership of our body and sexual nature, and that no person, institution or government has the right to take it from us.
It is my deep belief that your body is your sovereign ground. It is something that no-one can take from you, and no-one can give to you. We have to claim it for ourselves.
Even for those who have suffered abuse at the hands of others, Saida believes there is great healing and comfort in recognising your sexual sovereignty. She herself survived a violent rape but chose not to let the assault define her future.
We have all had a moment where victimisation has happened, but that moment doesn’t have to define in totality who we are for the rest of our lives.
She teaches how to listen to the intuitive nature that lies within our bodies to help create richer lives.
That’s the thing that we’ve forgotten how to do; have a relationship with this incredible body of ours that is deeply intuitive and deeply instinctual and profoundly connected. We are porous beings profoundly connected to life and when we start living that way and start listening even just a little bit I feel there’s a sense of grace that starts to emerge.
Listen here to Dr. Saida Desilets’ vision for healing and growth for all.
