Creativity for Wellbeing
The Benefits of Getting Creative

Dominique Falla says everyone is inherently creative, it’s just that some of us have let our ‘creative muscle’ get a bit flabby. She explains what creativity can do for our health and brain.

There are no flabby creative muscles on our next guest, Dr. Tanja Beer; she’s an ecoscenographer who makes sustainable performance spaces that audiences can eat. She explains what an ecoscenographer actually is, and why she makes ‘living stages.’

We also meet climate activist and hip-hop artist, Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, who shares his insights on creative activism and some new music as well.

About Our Guests:

Dominique Falla is a university lecturer and a designer/artist. Known as the ‘Tactile Typographer’ Dominique has completed string typography commissions for Google, Bing, Penguin, Random House, and Woolworths, among others. Dominique is the founder of the Typism Global Community, and her book on Creativity Fitness will be published next year.

Dr Tanja Beer is an Academic Fellow in Performance Design and Sustainability (Ecoscenography) at the University of Melbourne. Tanja’s research integrates built environments, urban ecology, performance studies, positive psychology, systems thinking and Indigenous knowledge to inform our capacity as humans to thrive in today’s changing climate.

Xiuhtezcatl Martinez is a young indigenous climate activist, hip-hop artist, and a powerful voice on the front lines of a global youth-led environmental movement. He is also the Youth Director of Earth Guardians, an organization of youths from across the globe who are working together to create positive change in their communities to address climate change and other important issues that will define our future.
